    Gone Swimming
    www.goneswimming.co.uk
A (secret) special offer from Gone Swimming - Wild Swimming Holidays in North Wales
Firstly, welcome to the influx of new subscribers that we have seen - thank you for taking an interest in what we have to offer.
The open water swimming season is now in full swing, just last week we had our first brave souls venture out into the (not so) icy depths for their first open water coaching session - in preparation for a mile swim in Ullswater later this year. Both Debbie & Nik did really well, and we got some great feedback "I learnt more in those two hours, than I have in the last six months of swimming."
We are really looking forward to the H2Open Day down in Reading on the 28th. There is encouraging demand for our wet weekends, and there is still spaces available on trips - have a look at the dates & locations.
So - what is this special offer we are going on about. Very simple.
For this weekend only - we are offering you the chance to book four places on a wet weekend, and only pay for three. So for the ridiculous total price of 525 (175 per person) you can bring four people away for a half-board weekend (breakfast & lunch included).
What is the reason for this? Simple, we want to encourage you to bring a friend, bring a colleague, bring your wife, husband, mistress or toyboy! We want to encourage more people to try open water swimming - and the best way to do that is through you encouraging your friends to give it a go.
To take advantage of this offer, speak to Gabby at the H2Open Day or send us an email this weekend. You don't have to have booked and paid, as long as we have received an e-mail from you before we switch on the computer on Monday, then you can take advantage of this - on any wet weekend trip that we have currently scheduled.
We look forward to receiving your e-mail.
    Dan & Gabs

    Sealife Trips 2012
Sealife-adventures is a Visit Scotland 4 star Wild Life Experience. We run wildlife, whirlpool and whale watching trips from our purpose-built easy access pontoon and private car park on Seil, a scenic 30 minute drive south of Oban. Our boat offers a unique combination of uncrowded comfort, stability and exceptional speed from silenced twin engines.
All trips are skippered by David, a marine biologist who has been an owner/skipper in this area for 25 years. Our enthusiastic wildlife guide will provide commentary and an endless supply of hot drinks and biscuits - there is a washroom.
We've had some great trips this May with good sightings particularly of eagles and some dolphins, and are looking forward to the summer ahead!
We have scheduled the following trips for the next few days, pre-booking is strongly advised. We can schedule in other trips to suit you.
Please phone us on 01852 300 203 (eve and weekend) or 01631 57 10 10 (office hours), if you wish to book or for more information or if you wish us to schedule in more trips.

    Surf's Up! Polzeath
    www.surfsupsurfschool.com
Surf's Up! - Climb Every Mountain
Today we have some surf. Chest high, light breeze - and no rain. Well not right now, we did earlier. If we believe in the law of averages, which I do, the summer holidays are going to be stonking - ninety degrees, head high, light offshore... you can quote me on that! Still quiet on the beach with general traffic - school groups are keeping our heads above the pulpit. Speaking of the Olympics (we weren't) can I remind anyone aged 17 or below that you can enrol on our Junior Scheme when you come along for lessons - Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates awarded for achieving the appropriate levels. Do three or more lessons and it's a freebie, from us to you (07760 126225).
    Diamond Jubilee Special
To mark the very special occassion this weekend, of Janey's birthday (!), we're offering a 10% discount off any red, white or blue Surf's Up! hoodies bought in the Surf's Up! shop from now until Wednesday. That's genius right? You just can't hold me back. Pop in and see Sarah. If you're after a surf lesson, please call to pre-book on 07760 126225 - it's gonna be busy, busy, busy. That's your heads up... you've been warned!
Another little tip off - if you speak nicely to Wailo on the beach, we may have a couple of soft surfboards for sale. Just our little secret okay.
The bunting is up, the flags are flying, 2-3ft forecast for the week, there's a huge buzz of anticipation down here on the beach - we're like coiled springs, good to go. Can't wait! Time to feel that sand between your toes.
    25/05/2012
A holiday in North Cornwall would not be complete without a visit to the legendary Surf's Up! Surf School, to try your hand at the Sport of Kings. The coaching team on Polzeath Beach have been holding the hands of aspiring surfers of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities since 1995 and reckon they've just about cracked it! "It's simple but not easy," is the way they describe it and a few tips from the top are all that are needed to fast track the learning experience. Most beginners will be up and riding in a two hour session, more experienced riders will relish throwing out some spray with their new found turns. Polzeath Beach is the perfect destination with a gently shelving sandy beach and consistent surf. Shops, cafes etc are all within staggering distance after the lesson. And if you want to know why it's so popular with the rich and famous, just check out the scenery. Stunning. "An awesome activity, with awesome instructors, in an awesome location," commented one happy client. And who would disagree? Lessons are available everyday at 10m and 2pm. Booking in advance advised on 07760 126225 or www.surfsupsurfschool.com. Slip, slap, slop.
    23/05/2012
Beach House Special - 24th June - 27th June, sleeps ten, funny dates hence 450!! Call Rach on 07760 126225 if that tickles your buds. Couple of Duke of Edinburgh Residential places left at Surf's Up! flat.
We have surf, but as yet this morning, no sun. It's a bit overcast. I have it on good authority that it's going to break through any min.
    Sun has his hat on!
Time to give us a ring and book those surf lessons, strike while the iron is hot. 8th - 13th July is surprisingly still available at the Beach House.
    03/05/2012
Okay, we've got a lot to get through, grab yourself a Latte, hobnob and chair and we'll crack on. In no particular order...If you're coming down this weekend for the Bank Holiday and you're one of the first five people to go up to the trailer and ask the following question to the person on bookings, "Have Ginsters been repairing all the pot holes in this village?" (If they're going to be repaired how about making them nice and flat, rather than crimped along the edges! Grrrr - no good for my bike.).... we'll throw in some free board hire for you (as long as you've either booked or are booking a lesson). And if you go to the shop and tell Sarah, "My pockets are lined with the hair of a Camels Hump", she'll give you a 10% discount off Surf's Up! stock. (Don't forget we now have a full compliment of Finisterre gear in store).
Just a few dates left for the Beach House (sleeps ten right on the sand), as follows - 20th May - 25th May, 25th May - 1st June, 24th June - 27th June, 8th July - 13th July (that last one's just this minute become available). If any of those dates work for you, then please give Rach a shout (07760 126225). The Duke of Edinburgh residential courses are proving very popular this year - staying in our flat with loads of surfing. Sweet - only a few dates left for those.
If you're 17 or under then you can go for Gold with the Junior Surfing Scheme logbooks. Keeping with the theme of Olympic year, there are three awards - Gold, Silver and Bronze - log your surfing progress, a great guide as to where you are with your surfing and what's next to work on. Free when enrolled onto either the Weekender or the Developer Courses.
The fast track booking system is working a treat. Book your lessons in advance, complete all the paperwork and payment before you head down and you won't be hanging on waiting for others to complete their's. That's working really well.
