East Devon Training
East Devon Training is operated by Andy and Sarah within a World Heritage Site nestled alongside the Jurassic coastline in the West Country. A stunning part of the Country to perform any on water course, East Devon provides the perfect backdrop.
Our priorities are giving you the skills you need in a fun friendly environment.
Andy, the principal has thirty years' experience in Lifeguarding, First Aid Training, Powerboat Training and Water Safety Management. Andy delivers courses with the enthusiasm, integrity and a professionalism that we expect from all our instructors.
Sarah deals with all the administration and makes sure everyone is where they should be and when! For over ten years Sarah has delivered courses in First Aid, Defibrillator use and Swimming Coaching.
All our instructors have a minimum of five years' experience doing what they teach, giving them thorough background knowledge of practical situations. This means they are able to teach not only to the highest standards but can make it fun as well.
Often our instructors are able to tailor the course to a studentís needs and requirements. They can also normally assist with ongoing learning and career development.

- 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work.

East Devon Training, as a registered (RLSS) Training Centre, delivers Lifeguard and Lifesaving courses as well. The lifeguard courses are open to candidates aged 16 years or over and provide intensive training in the theory and practices of Beach and Pool Lifeguarding, resuscitation, open/pool water rescue skills and First Aid.
We are able to provide an introduction to the local RNLI Supervisor for anyone wishing to seek employment with them.
We can also provide rescue courses for Activity Supervisors who don't require full lifeguard qualifications to supervise structured out door water based activities.
RYA Training Centre - East Devon Training is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Training centre. We are able to provide instruction in:
- Personal Water Craft (PWC) proficiency.
- Power Boat handling Levels 1 & 2.
- First Aid (RYA Registered Course).
- International Certificate of Competence (ICC - for boaters going abroad).
We are inspected annually by the RYA and only employ fully qualified RYA Instructors who have years of experience of 'doing it for real', not just instructing.
